  1. The risk to children is still low, traffic accidents kill more. This is based on US data. If vaccinated as in over 5 and up to 18 it's really not worth worrying about unless the child has significant other issues. So yes take reasonable precautions but shouldn't become overly worried about the situation. It's the 50+ age cohort who refuse to get vaccinated that's the real problem for societies and to an extent those in that group that refuse to get 3 doses also, indications so far indicate extremely good protection after the third dose.
