@oldfogey4679 my observation is in the case of the US having compulsory turn up laws or send in an envelope laws, ballot is secret you can do anything you want with it , would be beneficial because policies are literally being developed in the US to get the turn out to vote which makes them care less about those unlikely to vote and I would suggest radicalizes the policies. In reality most people will vote if they are there. Australia and US removed all segregation officially around the same time, but the US seems to be stuck in the past for some people and matters still unresolved. There's also way too much money involved in political donations in the US, that's very hard to solve it seems.
