  1. Think of HIV it was in Africa for at least 30 years before being discovered in the US so it's no necessarily the case. It can be the particular mutation occured in Wuhan making it much more contagious. The B strain was far more contagious than the A strain and now B117 strain AKA UK strain is much more contagious again along with some other strains it seems. Nothing is simple and assumptions of what might of probably happened are still just assumptions. In Italy they couldn't even find a single case until February 21 but clearly it had been there for a month or so due to the numbers.
