  2. I think what Fareed said here pretty much sums up US political doctrine. While every country has the same issue the US seems incapable of change, it doesn't matter how bad the situation gets for example with inner city crime , nothing gets done, to clean up crime there will be some innocent victims, so instead 20 or so inner cities have homicide rates above 20 per hundred thousand and nothing gets done other than let's have less police from the left and let's just keep them out of the suburbs on the right. Neither side has any credible plan, it's like people in those areas have been abandoned. 20 per hundred thousand homicide rate doesn't look good in a poor corrupt developing country.
