@tg2535 How was Trump fair to the 500,000 dead from covid 19 and associated issues under his watch?

The ID thing while might cause small improvements here and there is really not the issue because if someone wants to commit fraud with forged signatures they can, no election can properly check every signature, no ID required in Australia and we do fine also. It's about trust mostly and people just doing the right thing and accepting the outcome , Trump has successfully broken this trust along with his loyalists. Get 10 people at any election in the world to collude of course they can dump a box of ballots for example, it is however extremely rare and normally will only ever happen on a wide scale if a dictator is being deposed through the ballot box. Kim Jong Un for example doesn't need to cheat, he is popular in his country and banning any non aligned party helps too.

Leeroy do you understand associated issues or in other words lockdown lite which kills people as does a proper lockdown but a proper lockdown kills far less because it ends relatively quickly, lockdown lite just keeps going. The excess deaths from January 26 to October 3 were 300,000 according to the CDC and only 200,000 were covid 19 related leaving 100,000 people dead from lockdown lite policies. If you look at countries that eliminated the virus deaths are down or in other words life expectancy increased because the overall effect caused less problems like the flu. Violence was also up with homicides up about 50% in 34 cities in the US in 2020. I am not saying Trump is to blame for everything but he certainly contributed significantly, to the point of encouraging people to get infected by what he said at rallies in particular and he knows his devotees will do whatever they think he wants, hence many capitol insurrectionists saying that they believe Trump wanted them to do it.

Leeroy so the extra 100,000 dead from lockdown lite don't matter , fair enough that's your opinion.

Leeroy Being on an island makes only some difference, the islands of Hawaii and Puerto Rico and Alaska because no mainland connection have done badly too, just better than average for the US. If you want to compare to Vietnam, China and Thailand with more borders that are difficult to manage ok fair enough, the US completely failed.

Leeroy China certainly had some initial failures and the Trump like propaganda campaign by the CPC to blame the US or whoever isn't good, yes I certainly put those 2 together regarding propaganda which causes harm. You wanted northern hemisphere countries with land borders to compare to so I listed some. Yes Europe has done as bad as the US for the most part. If you look at the WHO regions , it might be these regional organization that had a great effect , so PAHO which looks after the Americas and the European WHO office which puts countries into 3 separate groups. Last time I checked all the top 40 worst deaths per 100,000 from these jurisdictions, South Africa was just outside that top 40 at the time. China corrected the situation after initial failures, the US and Europe did no containment measures until recently the UK has instituted some hotel quarantine and so has Canada. I am fair and you would be correct to say Biden's policy differs little to Trump , borders still wide open and no hotel quarantine. The US and most of Europe only have one trick up their sleeve that's vaccines and if that fails back to square one. While it's likely vaccines will do the trick it's not a certainty if some variant/s evade it.

Leeroy hey why are you so angry? If you think the US is doing fine then you would have no need to be angry
1
Leeroy where are you from? The US is a basket case that's just fact , just consider virtually any key measure and they perform badly. China certainly is laughing at the US performance. China of course is still far poorer on a per capita basis but they will continue going up for a while yet I think. The life expectancy in China now is only a year and a half behind the US.

Trump is genuine threat to democracy around the world, first he gave the biggest boost ever to the CPC by failures in the US on Covid 19 and his ranting and raving. China would privately like Trump being in power for that reason. Whether good or not many countries look to the US not elsewhere when it comes to democracy and currently it doesn't look as attractive based on that one country. It's also a high risk Trump comes back in 2024, the steady decline of the US will likely continue under the Democrats and Chinese economy will be pretty close to overtaking the US in 4 years and for reasons of jealousy this will annoy many Trump supporters even though average wealth of Americans will still be 3 times that of China. It's like they want others stay poor. Hoping Trump isn't back in 4 years for your country, he will likely just accelerate government debt again to create another artificial boom being the biggest non war time raiser of debt in your history.
