Deaths per capita not per case , maybe the gentleman should have a look at US versus Japan in this regard. It's a hundredfold difference.

Then how did Japan , Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand come out so good. My country Australia is having problems in one state now but we are not in denial and know how bad it could become.

@mypillowguy445 now, if they had access to CNN or Fox or any other news network everyone new on 20 January when Wuhan was locked down. This is not in dispute. Cases had already been found outside of China at that point in time so it was also known with a high degree of probability that there would be infections in the US.

@spzaruba5089 it's unfortunate that the political duopoly in the US is totally disfunctional. Both political parties in the US are behaving like spoilt children ( not saying all politicians are bad). If your point is regardless whether Democrats or Republicans were dealing with this issue failure was inevitable I think you have a point. Really the US needs a new constitution. The electoral college is hated by many and you elect a quasi king or queen. Under the Westminster system a government is made up of elected people and nobody has real power. In the US system the President (quasi king) runs the entire government choosing usually unelected officials to be secretaries (ministers). 200 years ago this was probably the best democratic system available like a Model T Ford of it's day, versus a Ferrari of today. Extreme left and right inhabit your duopoly of political parties because other parties are effectively excluded. Your Federation of state versus federal responsibilities is not clear and there is a heap of overlap which is completely inefficient. Just some food for thought for you.
