Mexican antivaxxers must be kept out, nobody calling for the unvaccinated Mexican truckers to be allowed across the border but want all unvaccinated Canadians to jump the queue before such restrictions are universally dropped which is probably years away.

More peaceful in a sense yes but actually more disruptive, shutting down 20% of an entire country's trade is bigger than most trade sanctions countries get put under. This is the equivalent of the trade sanctions against Cuba. If it goes on for a month hundreds of thousands of workers out of a job and both US and Canada going down at a rapid rate and running up wartime style government deficits, crime on the increase , suicides increasing etc. make no mistake how disruptive this is.

@UrbanLikwid how about the million lives lost from the bungled covid 19 response? To be fair 900,000 because about 100,000 unavoidable in the US situation. Million is the CDC excess deaths which Jan 6 and BLM riots in some areas had an infinitesimally small contribution. Having hundreds of thousands out of work causes more suicides and domestic violence and possibly homicide. There is cause and effect and shutting down significant proportions of economies does kill people indirectly.
