Really, then why does China refuse to talk to Australia? China has a grievance with free media even, they complained about our media having bad reports on China. This is only one of the 14 grievances but apparently we have to improve first before China will talk to us. Should Australia shut down it's free media and institute China's way of doing things?

@quincycamo7577 Let's hope it never comes to the military bit, China is the same to the soviet union before, they might have less nuclear weapons but their conventional military would come close to rivalling the US, and give it 10 or 20 years it probably will. Personally I fear for those nations bordering China, they are taking the sea and maybe they have terrestrial ambitions as well, they always refer back to distant dynasties to justify colonies of Tibet and Xinjiang, parts of Myanmar, Laos , Vietnam and Thailand can also fit that description. Not saying they actually are considering it but on the other hand don't think it's impossible.

@quincycamo7577 Actually they know we can hurt them but not sure you can. 53% of the internationally exported iron ore is Australian, 69 % of the internationally imported iron ore is China, full on trade war China would hurt from us, cut that supply would be similar to cutting oil. Trade wise we are very different Australia has the largest trade surplus with China assuming you consider Taiwan to be China, the US has the largest trade deficit with China. So hurt as in stop buying stuff off us maybe but they have no choice just like the US has no choice but to buy a significant number of things from China. On CGTN the iron ore issue has been mentioned, they are fully aware of this reliance on one country as is Australia with them in many respects.

@shengyuan592 China is refusing to talk, a superpower can exert a lot of pressure, trade sanctions in the case of certain products appears to be what they are doing. If you want another example which internationally most don't agree with is the ongoing trade sanctions by the US against Cuba. Of course a country of 25 million isn't a match with a country of over 1 billion. We do rely on for example the US nuclear shield and gave up our rights to nuclear weapons on this basis. The world order has 2 superpowers and everyone knows it.

Nothing about race and nothing about Asia, maybe you are a US citizen where the homicide rate is about 5 times that of all other wealthy countries except Canada. Maybe it's your nation.

Things change. If you want to go back 200 years slavery was universally accepted, in various forms.

@ronvara2929 Are you kidding, a country that practiced binding women's feet , ok China is Utopia the only heaven on earth. There are even photographs of this so not exactly ancient China. Slavery was outlawed in 1910 in China but since slavery didn't exist why was the law made?

@ronvara2929 ok fair enough a 10 year old girl would choose to cripple themselves. Yeah to 19th century China the only free country.
