  1. I would add one more thing to your list, functional government. To give one example comparing to Australia the US spends more per Capita on publically funded healthcare than Australia yet your healthcare system isn't universal. You are right about freetrade and especially in the context of your other problems with neighbors to your south, stop importing people for cheap labor and trade with those countries instead, let their economies rise up which is more humane than continuously removing their middle class for unskilled labor. I see the bleeding hearts not realizing the damage this is doing and very unpopular amongst low skilled workers in the US.
