  1. One reason I believe it has been made clear [at this moment] that the US will not put boots on the ground or in the air is because it would give Putin heaps of propaganda when planes get shot down etc. to say it's the Americans and other allies, UK and Australia would automatically agree to provide some support based on recent history but which country would want to be targeted because wherever those planes flying from would then be a Russian target. I can't see any small Eastern European country wanting that.
