People surprised employment rate not being affected yet shouldn't be, at the moment things are being rushed into the US as quickly as possible to minimise tariffs as much as possible, this would actually create some employment, but the moment tariffs are in full effect people will start losing jobs , especially anything import or export related.

  3. It's possible for unemployment rate to move in the opposite direction to the amount of employment occurring. If someone works 1 hour a week they are considered employed for statistics also participation rates change, if you aren't looking for work you aren't considered unemployed.
