So, my friend told me about this, as I hadn’t seen the video. From her description I was expecting to see the workers beating several types of 💩 out of the lady. I was fearing to see some serious violence. Now I’ve actually seen the video, I see a low standard of caring and a lack of respect for the old lady.
This woman has dementia and will have to be “forced” into certain positions and kept stable for safety of the woman and the workers. These workers techniques were rough at times and they manhandled the woman and this wasn’t pleasant to watch, but if people don’t have an understanding of caring for dementia patients, they can’t really give an informed opinion. Real abuse does happen in care homes, worse than this. Patients are left on the floor, undressed, being shouted and demeaned, etc. Thus actually happened recently and the yte carers were not charged with anything. This wasn’t happening here. The old lady looked like she can give nearly as good as she can get as the male worker playfully hit her on the head with a pillow. It’s not unusual for yte patients to give racial abuse to their non-white carers. These workers are in the job, sadly purely for the money. They don’t care about this lady and I suspect it’s the same with other patients. These companies pay low wages and don’t care who they employ. English people are too quick to shove their elders in a home. It’s a recipe for disaster.
