  1. Francis's depiction of "RU victimization" and the weaponizing of it to ultimately benefit a small cadre of people is intriguing. I would offer a corollary in how the American Right has fabricated their own flavor of victimization and demonizing of some groups for their own purposes: to concentrate power and therefore pillaging opportunities among their party. Look at how our (USA) checks-and-balances are being dismantled, carefully and completely. This matters for the UK and EU. With a corruption culture akin to RU, the US becomes not an ally, but a new source of risk, of takeover. Look at drumpf's demands for Greenland - it will not end there, or with Canada. This ties in with putin's ideas of spheres of power, not of Democratic countries working cooperatively.
