  5. This episode veered a little more political than I think was warranted. There was no choice, or at best a Hobson's Choice as to whether the US could respond militarily - they essentially had to, and face the potential escalation. To do nothing would further destabilize the region and give the shipping companies reasons/excuses why they had to raise rates or avoid the area.
