  1. Been stuck at a low tier shitty state school, commuting from home, suffering to pay my dues and work straight through college in the name of being debt free when I get out. It's painful, isolating, and pure grind. This isn't a fair cut to the average citizen and as an American taxpayer I don't want to subsidize someone else's poor choices and financial mistakes. With any life choice comes personal responsibility, and most of my university peers (and their parents clearly) LACK it. You don't belong in college if you took out 150k to go to the state flagship and now are begging to get those debts forgiven. There were a myriad of alternative paths to the debt you are now trying to shift onto someone else. Deferred gratification. I can count DOZENS of names from my high school class alone who looked down upon a cheaper education (including my school) and are now drowning in debt, crying wolf. We warned ya. Not my problem, nor my choice, and I ain't paying for your mistakes. It's 2020 not 1991.  The selfishness and indifference one must adopt in choosing to attend a school you KNOW you cannot afford, signing tens of thousands in loans with no conception of how to pay them back? The people demanding handouts to save them from their own personal choices are calling the dissenting side selfish? Utter self projection. If you're royally fucked that's on you and only you. Gimme an f'in break.
