@avishnevsky7394 As I said, bricks will deteriorate unless done 100 percent perfect and only then will you maybe get 100 years, MAYBE. Concrete blocks are SUPERIOR for places like florida and the south east of U.S. and it's almost all they use now. DUH, yes of course you insulate, you can do that INSIDE THE concrete blocks or there are other insulation ideas you can do with concrete blocks. You also always use plaster, paint, have proper side of the house drainage so water isn't going back to the house. I don't worry about cold because I live just north of florida.

@avishnevsky7394 Concrete block with plaster or paint composite treatment requires less maintenance than brick does. Brick often breaks down and needs refills because it is smaller and less strong. I don't have a wood house, it sucks imo. I don't use stone either except for certain things either inside the house like types of mini floor sections. Brick inferior, wood inferior Concrete blocks = WIN

@avishnevsky7394 Brick falls apart after 50 years often. Concrete, stone, etc is the way to go. Look at florida. Wood is garbage sticks. Look after that N.C. hurricane weather crap. Wood houses all gone

@avishnevsky7394 I've talked to builders, only IF the brick has been built perfectly will it last with no problems at all for maybe 150 years. Usually 50-100 with problems. A friend of mine was going to buy a house in PA usa and the brick house was built in 1945 and has all kinds of breaks and problems all over so he didn't buy it. The Concrete gets covered by that plaster crap in the u.s.a. to protect from rain, it's not extremely expensive. You can also insulate inside the concrete blocks with your choice of insulation. Concrete block and stone is superior.
2
@avishnevsky7394 I agree with you on most of what you just said BUT brick has a lot more pressure on it and is smaller than concrete, most rock and stone and will deteriorate quicker which it does in the u.s. and then needs repairs.

@stefanpuschel3958 Brick NEEDS WORK done to it too often. Also, most aren't using limestone.

@MarieAntoinetteDaCakeEater There are A LOT of stupid people that are poor I'm afraid. It is the people in the middle that are brilliant and make things happen, even pooling their money for great ideas. Very rarely is it the super wealthy or dirt poor that create true greatness for the betterment of all. As shopenhauer would point out too from what I remember.
2
@MarieAntoinetteDaCakeEater Just like in the times well before the french revolution. A Middle tier making things work, noblemen, duchies, dukes, mid level farmers. People of good stock. Mostly gone from france now.....

Interesting since brutalist architecture came out of russia/Ukraine. Yeah maybe it's better you go back to tartarian visigoth roots. The best people came from them, the best works.

@avishnevsky7394 They have styrofoam type stuff/fil and even huge sheets of it, like foam boards, that they can put in between concrete blocks so that you don't need extra insulation. The same can be done with stone in different ways. Just get thicker CMU's which will have more insulation and it's not even an issue usually.
1
@avishnevsky7394 For CMU's? It isn't 2 times more. It is maybe a quarter more for concrete block in some areas where you don't have suppliers and have garbage contractors who don't do concrete block or don't know how and upcharge for the product. But in the south east u.s. it's pretty common to have plenty of suppliers and builders out here who use concrete block at a fair price.
1
@avishnevsky7394 What do you mean by this exactly?? Can you explain or give examples? Not exactly sure what you mean. ""Having outer wall from bricks, concrete or any other heavy blocks makes house foundation way more expensive (up to two times, depends on foundation type). And it is also extra cost of work.""
1
@avishnevsky7394 Your outside load bearing walls are concrete blocks right?
1
C @avishnevsky7394 Concrete Masonry Units. CONCRETE BLOCKS. gOOGLE THAT! LOL I'll reply later, I gotta sleep.
1
@avishnevsky7394 Sorry my post didn't go thru, I'll reply later, I messed up the text of it. Gotta go buy a new bed, talk later.
1
@avishnevsky7394 CMU is concrete masonry units, use a search engine and see what it is, you will see what i mean

@steelcrown7130 IF you have a typical garbage builder sure.

Ahh, makes sense that he's Dutch. They're the descendants of the visigoths, frisans, scythians, Tartarian vieigoth roots..

@sparksmcgee6641 Who gives a fk about carbon except you nwo wackos. I'd rather use real local stone than crappy composite any time. Further, I have bought real stone from out of state too and it was often less than the cost of "cheaper" composite. It just defends on your area and prices, which vary.

@threeriversforge1997 People hate quarries?
1
@threeriversforge1997 Not sure exactly what you're talking about now since the thread is longer but having a quarry a few miles out of a town or city isn't a big deal if it's a little bit remote. Where I live we have one that is a few miles from us, as is our city dump. Not a big deal at all. Everything goes south of us from their. No one can do anything about slavery in China because literally 99 percent of everything on the store shelves other than food IS MADE IN CHINA. Americans would literally have to go without almost any important products if they boycotted china. This is what the cockroaches that run things want. It's not like the people get a choice on most things.

With Democrcy you get what you deserve, corporations take over, Black Rock runs the show. Also good luck with the imf, fed reserve and all of the wonderfull inflation. The fools never learn.
1
@MarieAntoinetteDaCakeEater And who gets the good things done more often on average? The mostly lower IQ poor?(which is why they're poor, usually} The mostly selfish rich? It takes people like me and people I know to create great things. My only requirement is that whatever thing is started, we only care about breaking even, or a little over that, to cover repairs etc. Because I hate greed and I hate money.
