@commander_expendable maybe because the children's were brought to the target area by their insurgent fathers to use as propaganda against the US. It doesn't matter how civilians are killed, Taliban would use civilians as body shields and when they are shot by the US, the Taliban uses this as propaganda saying that civilians got shot intentionally even though the civilians were body shields.
