@jonnybegood6268 They won against the ANA, but not the US. If you'd look at the troop levels during the Taliban takeover majority of combat was Afghans vs Afghans. No coalition involvement.

@lostinspace013 Calling the Taliban cavemen in pyjamas is an understatement. They have 40 years of combat experience, they have Level 1-3 body armor, well oiled AKs, and more.

@mateus8004 you underestimate and disgrace the Afghans and Iraqis that fought. Practically everyone in Afghanistan had some form of combat training and Iraqis in 1991 came out of a recent war with Iran and Kuwait with the 4th Largest army in the world.

@josefmengele181 it wasn't so effective then, as they lost a lot of high grade units such as the paratroopers and a lot of equipment belonging to the royal tanks gaurd battalions lol. Even if it was then how were the Ukrainians able to hold for so long till western aid started pumping. The 1st chance of winning the war ended after Russia pulled out of Northern Ukraine, which resulted in the Iran Iraq war 2.0

@pomg6512 you don’t need the Bradley as a tank v tank vehicle. It’s also a recon vehicle, tank destroyer, infantry carrier, and a infantry support vehicle, in which it outperforms the T72 in those regards. Plus the Bradley in Desert Storm was not supported by air support because of a dust storm grounding aircraft.

@pomg6512 no it wasn't due to air superiority, as during the primary combat engagements, air power was grounded as due to dust storms which is a no go for ground ops. Plus everyone was saying how the T72 was gonna outperform the M1 Abrams Pierre Spray fan boy.

@pomg6512 yeah that did happen but it does not mean you can discredit its ability to be an effective fighting machine. The Bradley can be a better BMP, like the Humvee being a better assault vehicle than the trucks ukraine has. The Bradley is fit in battle in Ukraine as it provides good recon capability and speedy attacks Ukraine is doing.

@mateus8004 sure that did happen, but a thing called, the Republican Gaurd ignores all that you have said and fought the Americans willingly after surviving initial airsrikes. Btw, I am not sure Modern is the right word to describe the US at that time. They still be using the good ol M16, Phantoms, Hueys, Humvees, M60 Pattons, etc. To fight the Iraqis. Btw Kuwait city, 1st Marine Division M60A1s beat the younger T72. Also, sure the US invaded with allies, but that does not automatically make them overwhelm a country, you need the training and the equipment to do so. Sure some of the Coalition got modern gear but who are the people to use them and actually know how to use them? Did Israelis bend over and let every Arab country take them over? No!

@josefmengele181 nah the fact is that after AL Queda got screwed pretty good the US proceeds to pull out a lot of troops. Not to mention in Iraq there's still some 3 thousand troops in country still. As a plus OBL admitted to doing the attacks.
