  1. Generally, the Brits and Commonwealth don't name warships after people ... no HMS Joe Schlotnik out there. For the first time in their history, the Canadians are naming a class of 6 Arctic patrol ships after Canadian naval heroes. It's a "one of" not likely to be repeated.

  2. There is a great Canadian Naval Aviation museum at CFB Shearwater in Dartmouth Nova Scotia ... highly recommended.

  3. 6 Frigates? There are 12 and the original order was for 18 but a tight sphinctered Libertarian from land-locked Alberta cancelled a third of that fleet.
