@Madame702 They don't have a navy either but they forced the Black Sea Fleet to withdraw.

The Russians have been cruising on legacy stocks of weapons from the Soviet Union. Russia proper has a lot less capacity than the Soviet Union had so don't expect much.
14
"God, Guns and Trump" They worship some other "god", perhaps.
11
@stevensmith8923 I believe that it would be impossible to use "Starlink" as electromagnetic waves do not penetrate seawater. The communication with the surface was acoustic using sonar-like technology with a sound based carrier frequency. That's what works under water.
10
Don't ever say "FIRE" around a Russian sailor or he jumps for the life raft.
8
@tomkrzysiak9852 Because he can't shut up.
7
@ngangavictor5556 When did Russia wipe the Ukrainian navy out? Tell us when that epic sea battle happened.
7
@10Falcon14 The Navy would have recorded the implosion sound with SOSUS. They may not be forthcoming with SOSUS data as it will be classified.

Carbon fibre has a high tensile strength but its brittle in compression and shear. The resin makes it rigid, not resilient. Also, Acrylic is really brittle. Polycarbonate is not. Why do they use Acrylics for the window? You can shatter Plexiglass with a hammer.
5
He even discovered Neolithic settlements at the bottom of the Black Sea.
5
@TheGuccibane Helium not hydrogen which doesn't react with anything ...
5
@Squarecubez It was great drill for the RCAF maritime patrol aircraft.
5
@AbBc-w4q Why would you peg any of that on Ballard? That is a racist statement.
5
@jaxhernandez6402 "yea canidans too soft for anything like this" Friendly is "soft"? What sort of nightmare do you have to live in?
4
Please send drones ... fleets and fleets of drones with their attached ordinance. That'll give them a lot of anti-battery against the artillery currently pounding the civilians of Kyiv.
4
@UltraMEGAMAGARandy " I've got a degree in science too. " No wonder you can't spell.
3
General "Humpty Dumpty" Surovikin had a great fall.
3
Flubber
3
You can't under the Montreux Convention of 1922.
3
Hey, the glorious bigly and mighty Army of the Great Mother Russia was going to take Kyiv is a day or two. What happened to THAT plan, Stupor Star?
3
"Englishmen sending best wishes to our US cousins...." We Canadians who appear to be the target of the attack are just chopped liver.
3
@MidwestTom The Brits have forgotten that it's Canada that came to their side in two World wars, not the Americans who dithered for years.
3
@@miraak8523 Try: "metal".
3
Carbon Fibre crumbles in compression. Ridiculous.
2
Time to send some American flagged grain carriers into the Black Sea and watch what happens.
2
@bravo2_0 They must be proud to have been so important in the creation of North Korea ... the planet's ass hole.
2
@sw1412 Why? What happened to them? There were thousands of theater nuclear weapons deployed in Europe a few decades back. Did they scrap them all out?
2
... or Darth Vader with his helmet off.
2
... and tell each other that they're "VICTIMS"
2
@actionhiro4222 "Vodka" Martini ... that's not a Martini. It's a sissy's drink (and James Bond's)
2
@actionhiro4222 Gin and an eyedropper full of dry vermouth on crushed ice with a stuffed green olive. That is a Martini.
2
@kostamilosevic2068 He'll never get that many Syrians there ... probably a 1/10th that number at the most. Some of them will freeze to death (maybe starve to death, knowing the state of the Russian logistics) and a bigger part of the Syrians will RUN not walk to the Polish border so that they can get into the West. The rest will be picked off one-by-one by a population that has just been taught to HATE the Russians and their mercenaries.
2
It was minus 8 degrees C in Kyiv yesterday so the ground is frozen enough again for the Russians to drive their vehicles offroad. The problem with that is, it's only an unseasonable cold snap and in a few days those same vehicles will be buried up to the axles in goo until the Ukrainian scrap dealers pick up the rusty wrecks in a year or two. The Russian army is not being led by military geniuses. They have size but not smarts.
2
@hibomaxamad4844 "Give up Ukraine if you want to live. Russia is strong. Hurray " Love the little donkey on your flag avatar.
2
Here's a plan where NATO forces could help: That little snippet of isolated Russian territory between Lithuania, Poland and the corner of Belarus... Build up NATO troop numbers right along those borders and make the Russians and Belarusians feel claustrophobic so that it draws troop strength away from Ukraine. The Russian generals have already demonstrated that they are willing to split up their strength in different directions.
1
Maybe, we need to warn the news-blacked-out Russian public of that fact.
1
I don't get it. It's a Canadian ship on a Canadian Coast Guard pier in Canada where the Canadian Transportation Safety Board is investigating the wreck and the US Coast Guard over in Boston made the find? Same old, same old.
1
The Russians are victims ... VICTIMS ... always victims. They launch genocidal invasions of all the countries around them because they are VICTIMS.
1
@optimalprimidius7295 Shells are going to be exploding in gun breeches. North Korean junk might just take out more Russian guns than Ukrainian counter-battery fire does.
1
@paulgibbon5991 Yeah. "We've taken 150,000 children for sale and trade in Russia but the Ukrainians STILL won't negotiate peace!"
1
Barron is wondering where his piggy bank went.
1
So, now there's going to be parallel investigations? The TSB in Canada has already started because the supporting vessel is Canadian flagged. The Coast Guard isn't doing anything physical so their "investigation" is really just making press releases. Presumably the TSB and NTSB can either divide up the tasks or cooperate directly. There is already a jurisdictional problem. The only American component is that the sub owner is an American.
1
Can the RCAF patrol plane still hear knocking? Maybe, they found a Russian submarine.
1
James Risch ... yet another one of Putin's Patriots. Notice how all those GOP tough guys have melted like snowflakes, lately?
1
Fiona Hill brought up an interesting observation about this. Putin wants this reactor to fail blow up/ whatever to spook the Germans into not restarting their reactors. The German public is already afraid of nuclear but it is an alternative to a lot of the Russian gas being cut off. Germany gets a radioactive cloud over it as the Russians cut off their gas and the disaster levers Germany into making concessions to the Russians so that they get their gas turned back on. Fiendishly clever. Lets see if the Germans take that bait. Even money says they do.
1
@dr.brycebanner5676 "then how did it end up crashed and on fire on the american side into their building?" ... ummm because it all happened on the American side and never touched Canada?
1
@jamesthefirst8790 Nope. Fantasy. That car never crossed the border. You are misinformed. You must be an American. That would explain your lack of accurate information.
1
@julianacheriza9673 ... floating on the surface.
1
Democrats? Sky News is owned by Murdoch! Oh. they're also British. "Democrats" ... Sheesh!
1
The balloon innocently has " HAPPY FRIDAY RUNNING DOG" printed on the side but as of yet, no one knows where it came from.
