My maternal mitochondrial DnA is an exact match with Ava up in Caithness. Poor cousin Ava got sick and died. When they first published a rendering of what she looked like, she was a dead ringer for one of my nieces. When they corrected it, darkened her hair and complexion, she became a dead ringer for another one of my nieces!

My mother's paternal origins are from Falmouth and her maiden name (very much a Cornish one) is clearly French in origin. The French themselves are largely of Celtic origin, though especially in the Northwest so it would be a pretty seamless genetic blend between the two.

What was the biggest reason for Caesar's failure to invade England might be because England didn't exist until about 800 years later. As for the Cross of St. George shown in the title. Gearge had not been born nor martyred for a couple of hundred years, yet.

A connection between Ireland, Scotland and the Scythians might be through the Yamnaya peoples of the Steppes but holy crap that is a long time ago. Too long for an oral folk tradition to be passed on? Maybe. Who knows? There is a lot of suspicious, really old stuff to be found in places like the Old Testament ... like floods ... that might be a record of an ancient event.

Of course that came from the Pontic Steppes. They were the Yanmaya who are ancestors to a lot of Northwestern Europeans. They were perhaps, the first people to domesticate horses,. They were physically much larger than the average Neolithic person and they swept the Neolithic inhabitants of Europe away.

My origins are in the British Isles but my U-152 Y haplogroup takes me to Hallstatt, La Tene ancient burials. I consider that to be a "Celtic" genealogy but not "Britano-Celtic" necessarily. The Romans drove some Gallic tribes in front of them as they conquered Gaul and a few of them took refuge on the Isle of Britani. That is one possible explanation.

@cianob2216 That's relatively recent history. I was going back 6,000 years.
