Worth mentioning that this war has gone on far longer than the Russians anticipated it would and they are not equipped for a protracted fight, summer or winter. Take a look at the "Mobilized" and their bought-on-Amazon summer deer hunting uniforms. Those Soldiers are going to freeze to death in the -40°Ukrainian winter. The Canadians have donated a half million winter warfare uniforms and gear. They have as much expertise in winter as the Russians but with more modern equipment. Most of the Russian army is going to suffer like Napoleon's

@wheelmanstan Well, the climate there in Ukraine is exactly like the climate where I live (EXACTLY!) and March is balmy. Early January is freakin' -40° cold. By March, the crocuses are popping up in sheltered places. Frozen Orcsicles will litter the Ukrainian battlefield.

@yellowtunes2756 I'm guessing that it's 500K of winter uniform components, not full uniforms. Anyway, Russia is sending hundreds of thousands into the field with whatever the "troops' can manage to buy commercially. Magnificent logistics! So much better than Canada! If Russia's logistics are so brilliant, why couldn't they take Kyiv in the spring? (BTW Ukraine receives for more shells than that every day from Russia)

@yellowtunes2756 No, it's just that a swarm of Chinese trolls comes into these forums at the very same time everyday spouting the very same propaganda line. It was a guess and I'm still guessing that I'm right.

@jacobjorgenson9285 It's worth noting how easily genocide comes to the Russian population in general and it's not hard to see that the Russian thought about any war and about their non-Russian neighbours is. This Isn't some new phenomenon, either. It goes back hundreds of years. It's worth noting that you are an apologist for these monsters.

@anthonymitchell8893 Exactly. The Russians are in retreat everywhere now an by Christmas it will be a full rout.

@wheelmanstan It'll go down to -30°C, -40°C right after Christmas (two and a half months from now) and the ill prepared Russians are going to freeze and starve. They thought that they'd win in a week. There is no backup store of stuff to feed and clothe them. The Ukrainians don't need to engage in a costly house-to-house battle in Kherson. A simple winter siege will do it and thankfully, the Russians have just reinforced their garrison there so more of them will succumb. It's like a lobster trap, isn't it?

The logistics of fueling the soldiers is as difficult in winter as fueling their vehicles. At -40°, soldiers in the field require around 8,000 calories a day. There are regions in Ukraine where nothing like that is going to reach the increasingly isolated Russian units. They will loot the civilians that are still left and the Russians and Ukrainian non combatants will starve to death together in some parts of Ukraine (like in an encircled, besieged Kherson). Helpful aid to Ukraine might be more field rations ... "MRE's" ... hopefully specialized for winter fighting to keep them going in the cold.

@loveofit6498 Nope ... a half million is correct.

@yellowtunes2756 Judging from the time of day that you are posting, you are likely Chinese. We get them every day around now. You PLA? Your Dad must be high up in the Party or you wouldn't be allowed to access this portion of the Internet. No "WeChat" for you special Party people, eh? What is your rank? Lieutenant? How about your Chinese name?

@toughr1506 Hey, you've always got China! "Delivered on a Bactrian camel over the Silk Road"
