We're all supposed to feint with the vapors because the "mighty" Russian army is going to send some of their alcoholic hobo conscripts to their Western Border. The Finns must think that's hilarious.

Xi is in Moscow telling them it's time they all learned Mandarin and when the rent is due. Eurasia is destined to be Chinese, not Russian. Russia will be begging to join NATO sometime in the future.
25
At least they rid themselves of the gawd-awful Soviet architecture. It'll be interesting to see what a free Ukraine builds in its place.

@@trevordistance5636 He's dead in that submarine.
22
Was it "on the way to Ukraine"? It sailed to Romania, not Ukraine.
22
Which government has jurisdiction that far out in the North Atlantic?
19
@josuenogueras7141 ... operating out of Canada in International waters. Sort that legal puzzle out. I'm sure that someone will have to in the immediate future.
17
It would sure be a pity if Putin's plane got shot down on it's way to Kaliningrad. "We detected a Russian military aircraft violating NATO airspace and we took defensive action."
13
A rapid end to Vladimir Putin's regime along with a succession of his hostilities would solve Europe's winter energy crisis overnight. Whoever succeeds Putin (assuming they are saner and wiser0 will have to resume energy exports so that the Russian economy doesn't completely implode during the cold, dark winter. This all may be closer than we think.

"Pray against personal freedom" says Tucker. "This is the land of Liberty.".

@peabase Well, the Soviet army was fresh in those pre-WWII days (except for Stalin purging his officer class). Today's Russian army has been depleted badly with a quarter to one third of a million dead and likely that number or more invalided. It is a spent force with most of their "professional" soldiers gone and unmotivated, under equipped conscripts taking their place. The Finns are cutting edge and so are their Scandinavian neighbours. I'll put my money on the Finns.

Boring Russians, eh?
9
@ERIK JEGA RDOMNAI So, the non-indigenous Americans are going to get into boats and go back to where they all came from? Ummmm, nope. That isn't going to happen. Try to get a better grip on reality.

"Captain Crunch"

The Russian's luck taking out HIMARS hasn't been too good.
8
That's what ice breakers already have.
8
"One of the main region why Russia must Push NATO as far as possible" NATO is an alliance of 31 countries on two continents with the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th largest economies on Earth with 956 million citizens, 3.36 million in their militaries. Russia is going to "push" NATO nowhere, ever. Russia is poor and sickly.

Never stop for pirates.

They likely don't have the organizational abilities, either. All along, they don't exhibit a good grasp of combined arms operations. The Tankers, gunners, soldiers, pilots don't seem to talk to each other.
7
What's "new" about a bomber type that first flew in 1981 ... that's 43 years ago, grandpa. Get a grip, for gawd sake.
7
Does one of them have a drone remote controller in his hands?
6
@V.B.Squire Tides can do that.
5
They both have pretty sophisticated navies. Historically, it has been very hard to defeat the Japanese navy. The Chinese are newcomers to naval warfare and have never fought a sea battle in metal ships. They huff and they puff ....
5
These are 155mm shells which are used in NATO heavy artillery but not so much (yet) by Ukraine. The Soviet sizes are different.
5
They used to call those "Q Ships" in the old days.
4
After hundreds of years of this sort of behavior, they are not going to learn empathy. This sickness lies deep in the Russian soul.
4
"Command and coordination" is already a weakness in the Russian armed forces we can all see.
4
Some of those troops are likely Canadian as well. They are part of the training programs in both UK and Poland. Allies are working together (as always). It's not just the UK alone.
4
How about Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic tourist trips to the upper atmosphere? How many of those before a plane full of people are burnt up? It's equally as dodgy.
3
@neilabernath5862 What is left of Russia will be begging to join NATO in a few decades.
3
... bolted ...
3
@Mystery Rosebud Yeah the Russian trolls like "WHAT ABOUT! WHAT ABOUT!" Watch them bring up Afghanistan. Woopsky!
3
@renaud127 They have no compunction about shooting down airliners.... like the one over Eastern Ukraine in 2013 (Remember? ...Malaysian airliner?) Besides, "doing" Putin might save hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian and Russian lives.
3
@shanewilson2484 I'm a witness to a whole fleet of Russian "trawlers" lurking along the North American coast collecting intel in the 1970s.
3
@peabase Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
3
... with no strategic advantage gained.
3
@raybod1775 Hmmmm. Similar ego trip, though.
2
@axjlchr3279 Except that the American and Canadian ships didn't sail into Chinese territorial waters so your analogy is way off.
2
Cigarette ...
2
arlekino1263 Sure they do. Why?
2
AMERIKA! Secret Space Fog Machine!!
2
If the commandos hit the deck before the helicopter is properly grounded to it, the first one will be lit up nicely.
2
@cushiterevenge5696 Your own Generals have been either dying like flies or fired
2
Good God, Why? They're genocidal monsters!
2
No, it was a visiting Global Television crew on board the Canadian Frigate HMCS Montreal sailing beside USS CHUNG-HOON with a digital video camera recording every moment of this encounter.
2
@-_XD The flag that didn't get ruffled, scorched or touched? Its a fireworks detonation well behind the flag "that kept flying as if nothing had happened". Good camera work.
2
It's not particularly bad for Ukraine. Look at the map. Bakhmut leads nowhere. It isn't a crossroads. They don't produce anything vital there. There is nothing strategic about it. It's an important propaganda victory for a Putin who has claimed it's imminent fall since last August. He was beginning to look like a loser and Russians will string him up when that happens.
2
BOOOO ! They had the audacity to call him the "prince of Wales" , too. If they were honest about it, his family inheritance comes from Germany, not the conquered indigenous inhabitants of Britain. Ja?
2
@tyrantwitness2482 Oh, there are so many now ...
2
There is also a protocol against the use of landmines signed in Montreal years ago but none of these combattants got the memo.
