  3.  @r423fplip  NATO ships are at sea all the time in a couple of standing forces. There are 32 NATO countries and a lot of them are seafaring ones with a lot of wild and cray coastline. Russia has very little ocean coast and their dwindling navy is rusting out as the Soviet built ships are retired and not replaced. The Russian Killer Apes sure talk a big game, though.

  4. A clash with Taiwan may very well have a similar effect on China as Russia's invasion of Ukraine is having on Russia. Imagine if the Western countries sanction China and stop buying their manufactured goods? Factories all over China will close and hundreds of millions of Chinese that are just getting a tastee on Middle Class life will suddenly be dirt poor again. Revolution.

  15. The attempted encirclement of Bakhmut has created two juicy, exposed Russian salients just begging to be bit off. Why do that? ... to render that much more of the Russian army ineffective and to hurt Putin who has personally invested in Bakhmut's demise

  19.  @jthom5951  At certain points, it is quite narrow. According to International Maritime Law, it is an internal waterway in Canada. Does China recognise that? I doubt it and they are very interested in suing the Northwest Passage routs to save shipping costs.
