Unfortunately, Canada opted for the F-35A after examining the Gripen in detail. The F-35 will be great for adding to "shock and awe" coalitions in some foreign place. but the Gripen would clearly be superior for operations in the Canadian North ... where we need to beef up our defenses for the alliance.

@JethroBodineWhooWee69 I guess that running in fear might be more appropriate, eh?
6
"yes, civilian ships full of weapons." From where? Why would they use a dangerous sea route to ship weapons in when the route through Poland is safe and unmolested by the Russian forces? It makes no sense to take that dangerous route.
6
He probably traded Emails with Prigozhin.
6
Those bigger NATO tanks turning up on the battlefield about now might be big enough to simply drive over the Russian defences that they've prepared for tanks sizes they operate.
6
Since Ukraine has little seaborne amphibious landing capability, defending against one is a colossal make-work project. Perhaps the Russians need to be building desalination plants instead so that they have a supply of drinking water after having drained the reservoir that fed water into their aqueduct canal.
6
Alert the Lifeboat services! The Russians are sailing their tubs, again!
6
Why do you read it /watch it if it bothers you, so?
6
@Fureori Watch the Russian army SCRAMBLE to Belgorod over the next week leaving the front undermanned. The Ukrainian Generals are fecking brilliant.
6
@pauls3204 Yup. The Canadians, the Finns, Swedes and Norwegians ... all experts at winter warfare ... are helping out.
6
They carried out an overnight strike on another hospital. The Ukrainians just destroyed an arms dump in the occupied territories so naturally, the Russian did it too. Happens every time.
6
They're sure strutting confidently down a road that could be saturated with mines (hence a lot of those dead vehicles).
6
Still had the price sticker on it from Honest Ivan's.
6
Ducks in a shooting gallery ...
6
That's "hidden"? Not from drones, that's for sure. It reminds me of the three year old who covers up her eyes and says: "You can't see me!"
6
Three Minesweepers a year ... now there's a mighty fleet!
6
They moved Prigozhin's remains back to Russia? Was that at the request of the family?
6
@aarontrompeterrealestatebr6159 "Doesn't mean they CAN'T his us with a nuclear weapon" Think for a second what happens to them if they do that.
5
The lighter the vehicle the smaller and cheaper the drone required to take it out.
5
Russia's supply of qualified pilots must be going steadily downward. NATO is actually sapping strength from the Russian air force into this sort of pissing contest along the borders. Keep it up, NATO. Really bug the shyte out o the Russians and distract them from their war.
5
So, there is hope for the post-apocalyiptic Russians.
5
"How's the Special Military Operation going?" "We're going to need a bigger boat!"
5
Canada and the US share the defence of North American airspace through NORAD and Canada wasn't allowed to have the F-22 ... and neither was anybody else. The Americans actually passed a law to prevent their export.
5
Flying in an unsecured airspace would be a really stupid thing to do, don't you think?
5
@ryanbayne1033 Well, we're here on an Internet developed by Westerners using computers invented and developed by Westerners over world wide communication networks developed by Westerners while posting in English. Lots to hate, there.
5
They steal them from where I live and ship them in large numbers to Russia.
5
They keep telling us that they're okay with using nuclear weapons, never for a second considering that they themselves will receive them in return.
5
The dead may revolt. Zombie army right to the end.
5
Made in Canada.
5
Life is cheap in Russia.
5
Wagner is a private company. If Ukraine makes him a better offer and pays them in a hard currency ... Dollars, Euros instead of Rubles, you never know.
5
@NoYouAreNotDreaming Maybe, he shot some little kid in Ukraine. Would you feel differently about his welfare if you knew what he did to whom as an invading soldier that is part of an army with a long history of genocide?
5
Cigarette ...
5
Show them a mass grave.
5
See how easy it is to down Russian anti-ship missiles?
5
Now, they don't have to pay them.
5
Run Ivan, run! The creatures of the forest will take care of those.
5
Did any of the Wagner toops ever make it to Belarus or is this all theatre? The traditional way that the Russian army has dealt with mutineers is to put them in front of firing squads and there is no indication beyond someone's vague word about it that it hasn't already happened this time. Prigozhin? Nobody's seen him alive in a video since his protest. This guy LOVES to post videos of himself so why an "audio" only?
5
Yeah. "Yakety Sax" would be a better choice.
5
Look at all that fresh cannon fodder!
5
Here's Ivan with his fake WAPO article, again. Give it up, Ivan.
5
@232Invoker Wouldn't be surprised if Wagner starts rebelling against Putin very soon.
5
Tsushima 2024
5
@DiamondxCyborg They can stay in Russia. How's that?
5
Russian life is cheap.
5
Crazy Ivan.
5
@avjoshi4175 You really need to look at a map of Eurasia ... "encircling" Russia? How is that physically possible? Try not to become too hysterical. (You'd be lucky to be absorbed into the West. Your standard of living and lifespan would both increase steeply.)
5
I heard speculation that it was a stand-alone Patriot (not the full battery engaged) as it has the range.
5
There are so many ways to deliver nukes all of over Russia in a matter of minutes and bombers are the least likely way to do it. You must remember the 1950s.
5
Hey, it's whatever they can steal.
