  2. The really worrying part is the poor quality of Amerian public education, particularly science education and the teaching of critical thinking skills. A great part of the American population distrusts scientists, thinks that "science" is a belief system and scientific data somehow goes against God. They want the technological goodies that are derived from scientific examination and believe that America will continue to lead the world with their technology yet they reject the basic science that gives them the goodies. America has dumbed down too far and too fast.

  3.  @aycee3564  Sorry The Evangelicals DO NOT believe in the application of science and they control a big part of the Conservative agenda. Even Trump dare not go against them.
