  1. We tried to buy a fleet of up to a dozen British nuclear submarines a couple of decades agio and the purchase was blocked by the Americans who didn't want us knowing where their nuclear submarines were operating in the Arctic. It's not as if we did nothing. We weren't allowed to.

  2.  @jacktoy3032  No. it's different in the Pacific. The previous Secretary of State, Pig Man Pompeo publicly stated that the United States does not recognize Canada's Northern borders. Anzuk is about bringing the Australians into a closer Pacific alliance. The Americans could't care less if Canada is in a closer Pacific alliance. The two are utterly unrelated.
