@annehersey9895 The Naval escorts don't have to include any NATO members if that part is contentious. The Australians, New Zealanders, Japanese, South Koreans, Egyptians, Indians could put together an excellent Black Sea escort force without any NATO ships.

Isn't it bizarre that the Russians were "protecting" grain shipments until they suspended their agreement to do so? The next day, the Russian navy shelled a grain barge. So the Russian navy was protecting grain shipments from the Russian navy. It's a Mafia protection racket. Time for the UN to get an escort fleet together and into the Black Sea to protect grain shipments from the Russian navy.

@n?a Canada shipped Russian millions of tonnes of wheat and other grains during the Soviet period as Russian agriculture was a collective gong show. It's still going on with China who get grain from Australia and Canada but still persist in threatening and bullying both. Not bright.

This sort of bombardment of civilians has never worked in history. The British didn't give up when their cities were being bombed nightly. IIf anything, it increased their resolve. The Germans suffered terribly as their cities were destroyed by carpet bombing and yet, they did not give up until troops appeared literally on their doorsteps. Their resolve was also strengthened. The Japanese didn't surrender after the destruction of Tokyo and almost didn't after Nagasaki (Hirohito gave in but it was not unanimous). Hanoi didn't give in and went on to eventual victory. It doesn't work. Bombarding civilians DOES NOT WORK militarily.

@yan3066 You know, after more than a century of this behaviour, you have to wonder if there isn't something sick and degenerate deep in Russian culture that produces generation after generation of genocidal monsters. Those "Russians with good hearts" don't seem to know how to teach their sons.
