Comments by "Abraham Dozer" (@abrahamdozer6273) on "US military responded to Chinese and Russian vessels near Alaska" video.
A couple of summers ago, a newly commissioned Canadian Arctic Patrol ship was transiting the Northwest Passage. While in Canadian waters she was questioned by an American Coast Guard ice breaker "Who are you and what is your business here?" The response back was basically "Who are YOU and what is your business in Canadian territorial waters without informing Canada?" It's not just a "Chinese" problem.

. @citizenwayne4550 "Too much to ask from you, I guess." You must be an American to make such an ill bred and insulting remark to a total stranger

@citizen_wayne No. I'm talking about Canada's next door neighbour that not only doesn't recognize Canada's borders in the Arctic is generally surprised, perplexed and clueless when Canada finally builds a fleet to protect it's northern borders. The Americans declare the waterways within the Canadian archipelago as "international" (and subject to questioning surveillance by the US Coast Guard, it's so "international") and inviting the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans to freely cruise into the heart of northern North America. Not to bright, is it? Not friendly or neighborly by anyone's measure

@heathermccall8015 I'm a Canadian Veteran and during the occupation of Ottawa last year, I was asked why I'm not upholding my oath to the Constitution. Well, our oath is to the Sovereign, their heirs and successors (by extension to the authority of the Crown). When I was in the Forces, what most Canadians think is our constitution (actually the Bill of Rights and Freedoms) didn't exist and no, I did not swear allegiance to the British North America Act.

@hypnokitten6450 They didn't know who the ship was. It was a maiden voyage of a new class (The US Coast Guard won't be keeping track of new Canadian shipping) and I believe that it wasn't a joke at all. The Americans consider those waters to be their waters. The US Navy wasn't involved at all, has zero capability of travelling in the Northwest Passage. The US Coast Guard is left with meager resources to operate in the Arctic and can hardly do so.

@ICU1337 Well, declaring Canada's internal waterways as "International" in abeyance of Maritime Law was an unfriendly act declared by Pig Man Pompeo. Did you ever wonder how you manage to get your closest ally pissed off? Of course you didn't
1
@chonqmonk Oh well. I you've been fishing here you must know the country pretty well, then.
1
@chonqmonk Yes. Canada has 1/9th the population of the US and is 85 percent urban. There are amazing cities from coast to coast that you can walk around in in relative safety. That's where most Canadians live.

@heathermccall8015 The occupation of where? What are you talking about?
1
@heathermccall8015 Oh, definitely not. During that debacle some wannabee declared himself to be a Canadian Veteran upholding the Constitution as per his oath by occupying our capital. I pointed out that if he were a Canadian serviceman, he had made no such oath and technically, he had sworn allegiance to the Crown and by extension to the legal government. He was/is either stealing valour or more likely, he's an American fraudulently trying to pass himself off as a Canadian soldier. How many threads am I on? How many threads are you on?

@hypnokitten6450 The Rottweiler needs to be trained.

@bakerman42 They didn't know it was an ally ship so, of course they challenged it. . They didn't know what it was at all It is a new class of ship on it's first Northwest Passage transit and unless the Americans knew anything about new types of Canadian military ships originating form the East Coast (which is unlikely based on the historic insularity of Americans in general) they would have no clue.
1
@bakerman42 This was up in the Northwest Passage in Canadian waters in the Western Arctic. They flew their ensign when they left harbour back in Halifax thousands of miles behind them. Was the US Coast Guard flying their courtesy flag in another country's territorial waters? I'll bet not because the US doesn't recognize Canada's borders in the Arctic Archipelago.

@JamesBond-eu7ws Yeah, yeah, We're so grateful to you, oh benevolent American.
