It became pretty clear during the Trump years and as the attempted coup played out that the Secret Service gave their allegiance over to Trump instead of the Constitution. Even Pence was afraid of them. No doubt, a lot of those Trump loyalists have been vetted out by now but can you really trust them to not physically defend Trump from arrest?
