@namesdontmatter885 That is true because Ukrainian infantrymen are destroying the Russian army on the ground. Had that not happened and the Russians been humbled, they would have kept on rolling, for sure. They seem to believe their own propaganda about themselves.

@kevinmccabe7263 Well, that IS the European part of Russia. Putin is obsessing about some sort of fantasy NATO invasion from the West (NATO cannot "invade" anybody according to the charter) but if Russia is ever invaded, you can be 100% certain that us will come from the East.

@marcussoininen2084 ... getting closer every day ... another month or two of this (their bigly advancein the East is already stalled) and the Russian Army will mutiny. The Russians are trying to attack with a two-to-one manpower ratio. The conventional wisdom is that they would need about a three-to-one advantage and that assumes that the Russians have a good army in 2022 which is clearly not the case.

This all assumes that the Russians will just advance, unimpeded, unopposed wherever they want to go.One big lesson from military history is the plans like this can go horribly off the rails due to all sorts of unanticipated variables (see: Schlieffen Plan and unanticipated Belgian resistance), Perhaps, Ukrainian resistance is greater than anticipated and a Russian wing gets bogged down, way behind schedule and another wing is left exposed? 150,000 sound like a big army but the territories involved are large enough to really thin it out. This could turn in to a military quagmire for the Russians, like Afghanistan did. Beware of hubris.
