  1. This is actually a big change as it will require a lot of new bases, infrastructure, and redeployment of troops and equipment. it's not something that can be done immediately but will be a gradual shift that will really bring an anvil up to Russians boarder

  2. seems like russia shouldn't have played all their cards on this one, lithuania is basically calling their bluff in this case because they've declared their intent to park an army there with nuclear missiles, but the counterpoint of this being escalation is also very tricky because russia has been escalating against everyone for any reason as of late.

  3. tripwire is basically Defense-In-Depth, based on the idea that if he goes after NATO, he's gonna have to go after all of NATO or get pushed back. Now seeing Ukraine it's probably a good time to revise this policy since Russia will probably stop at where they want to and dig in
