  1. This is actually a big change as it will require a lot of new bases, infrastructure, and redeployment of troops and equipment. it's not something that can be done immediately but will be a gradual shift that will really bring an anvil up to Russians boarder

  2. tripwire is basically Defense-In-Depth, based on the idea that if he goes after NATO, he's gonna have to go after all of NATO or get pushed back. Now seeing Ukraine it's probably a good time to revise this policy since Russia will probably stop at where they want to and dig in
