  2. modern warfare isn't strictly fought along production like it was in ww2. Today its about stockpiles, intensity of conflict, and how many forces you commit. You're basically not going to build any new f35s in the time it takes to fight a modern high intensity war, so you have only diminishing stockpiles of weapons and vehicles
