ya but everything is legal if the supreme court agrees with it, and lately its been all about stacking the courts with people who agree with your particular world view instead of what the constitution, law, and society at large might believe

gotta love when corporations get to ignore arbitration just because it goes against them. we have a perfect legal system using arbitration under a law never intended for such one sided power balances

corporations of all kinds where they enjoy large unchecked authority need to be regulated and under way more scruitiny than they currently enjoy

so a bunch of sketchy guys

no, our english court system is just not capable of handling the modern legal code

I worked back-to-back 12 hour weekend shifts on rotation and night shift at one of 2 plants in the US that make a pharmacutical ingredient needed for nearly every medicine, I enjoyed it at times but man, half the quality staff like me were temps and we were not paid nearly enough especially with the plant workers filling bags making more than we did with college degrees. when I got an offer for 15k more on a job that was much less work I took it even though I did enjoy the work

There's some funny things like this when you go writing these sort of definitions into laws. Recently it was pointed out to me that in DOT regs to be able to use Dangerous placards in a load that contains just 1 hazard, a driver could toss a bottle of water in the back of the trailer and bam, suddenly 2 classes of items, thus they can use the lazy dangerous goods placard instead of a specific hazard placard

really like how you can have a truck full of guns in this country, even cross the border into mexico to sell them and are perfectly normal but carry a couple hundreds on you and you're obviously a drug dealer

there probably already are ordinances that apply to beaches that would make it a penalty if they built a big fire on a beach and walk away
1
sadly I doubt our current SCOTUS would rule civil asset forfeitures unconstitutional because they're all for dark money

sadly the opposite happened to my grandfather's club. it sat between sandusky and norwalk ohio and was in the middle of nowhere for decades (and still really is) until some developer built a housing development there 15 years ago and sued to shut it down and put enough pressure on them that the farmer who owned the land just stopped letting them use it

NIMBYs like this are whats wrong with this country. people do this everywhere and its not just indiana, its almost universal that you don't own beaches no matter how many fences and signs you put up. Your point about accessing beaches is true but there's been cases in various states where homeowners have banded together and fenced beaches in and have been told to take it down

kinda shocked they let the cops into the car, like its an armored car, clearly they're not a drug dealer

these days contracts seem more like demands since the amount of shit they can put in a contract is only limited by the creativity of the lawyers employed by the person who writes it
1
Constitutional Originalism and Textualism are bullshit, creating a cover for a predetermined outcome
1
why do these fucking companies even give a shit. Like if I'm ever in this position I'd tell the person "Not my problem what she says outside of work." We need to fix our legal system to prevent this shit but instead we've spent the last couple years passing abortion bans and other culture war red meat stuff

Corporations are people, so bees can be fish. If republicans want to argue against the latter they have to concede the former is also wrong
1
part of this also strikes at the dispute over sanctuary states/cities which people should be all in favor for because its the federal government taking your local cops away from their job because they can. in this case the dea is having the TSA doing the job of being drug enforcement outside of their statutory role

not exactly sure why he didn't send a wire transfer to california and picked the cash up there but I can understand the reasons for carrying cash
1
the heirs to the u-haul fortune put the trump's family drama to shame
