  1. b17s have an oddly low payload but then in order to get them built they were actually designed as something we don't really have today, as a long range torpedo heavy bomber meant to go out and hit capital ships days or hours before they ever get in range of the US coast

  2. huh, they've been going back and forth on this thing for like a decade, there's not even an afghanistan to give these to which was what prompted the contract to begin with. I wonder how this won out over the super tucano which previously won a program like this
