putting rubber ontop of a hot chip would normally be a very questionable practice

Oh thank goodness, I already wasn't going to buy one but this persuades me to still not buy one

too bad your choices are all the same regardless of the company, its called Industry Standards
1
Thing is, he stripped the car of the battery, motor, electronics, basically anything he could sell before blowing it up

at least they're making stuff with built in flaws, imagine having to actually troubleshoot and repair unusual hardware failures. how do dells hold up btw? I have one that cooked itself tons of times and got dropped a bunch and lived in my backpack being tossed around through college, but I hear the new xps laptops are failing pretty bad
1
seems like the workers of amazon will take this precedent because amazon does this but on a much larger scale

This is Lyoids of London too, the guys who claim to be able to insure EVERYTHING

the stupid thing is, you (hopefully) eventually get to a point where the only thing they can entice you to leave for another company is benefits and compensation, so they lead with that. The current employer I'm working for essentially did that. I had an office and while didn't exactly like the job, was getting paid pretty well, so they had to offer me a position paying at least as well with at least as good benefits to bring me on, and they did. I lost the office but got more vacation, and a 10 minute commute

that's a shocking amount of AC units, like how much more expensive would a mini-split system really be if they're running an AC in every room and cutting a hole in every wall
1
wow that's fucking stupid. guess I'm keeping the 450 I have at work. I absolutely hate the dymo software. Zebra's are much better for like a factory application
1
thing about framework is its not even a compromise on performance or price, its a good product at a good price
1
all apple had to do was stop paying them from the time when the bag check was completed, something I'm sure they're recording but that was too burdensome for them companies just have to be assholes
1
I don't even get this one because they already lock up their power tools behind a cage, so to steal one you have to get somebody to get you the tool out first, all they have to do is change policy so you have to pickup the tool at the front
1
he can try but the 3 mac pros in my living room are all a mess
1
all they build around me are elderly communities, literally housing developments you can't buy into if you're under 65
1
they already reprogram gpus and processor metadata to claim older gpus are 2080s
1
Covid-19 is literally a named disease, that's its name, its been identified as covid-19, or SARS-COVID-19
1
the starter bit is a nonstarter, you're supposed to vent the engine compartment for like 20 minutes before starting a boat for this exact reason
1
that half house would have been a middle class house before people went crazy with real estate

companies have to be assholes on principle seemingly these days. My last employer announced layoffs, then pulled me aside and told me they were firing me. I quit, filed unemployment. The email announcing layoffs was proof enough of discrimination for the state agency to grant my application. HR could have just said "We have to let you go, sorry but your job got eliminated." but no, they had to be the champions of their management and kick people even when they knew my position was being eliminated, so these two have now tarnished their company's image at the state unemployment agency and have on a record there that they unfairly fire people or coerce them to quit. THAT is bad management, encouraging middle management to be hardasses and ultimately hurt your own company

buildings aren't always the right shape, plus it was a lot harder back in the day to survey a site than it is today.
1
does this mean you've closed up shop in NYC? wish you the best of luck all the same
1
my dad had trouble finding a client a piece of land which itself was a swamp, he had to bid 10k over asking for a piece of land with absolutely nothing on it
1
from what I've read the subway was going to close for like 3 months to completely finish, but because that was a nonstarter they have to spend 18 months instead
1
art galleries probably aren't paying nearly as much, its very likely they are on a temporary contract
1
what even was that place built for, its such a weird layout
1
"This has been proposed in 21 other states." but NY and MA are two with the largest electronic industries on the east coast. Technical data on mechanical things is no different from technical data on electric/mechanical products yet we treat them differently

I lost the battery cover of my gameboy advance like that when I was 8. it bounced under my bed, never saw it again. I found it briefly 10 years later, but lost it again while I was looking for the gameboy. it had to have left this dimension, I moved that bed to repaint like twice in that timespan
1
this is like the dominos pizza sonic, they argued that copyright and trademark protection extended to the design of the car irregardless of whether the owner removed the colors and badges
