  1. i have a feeling electric cars will be able to do this easily since the batteries and motor dont generate heat at the same rate that a comparable engine would plus you would eliminate the power loss through drivetrain by just going direct drive

  2. seems like another maybe more marketable benefit is you could really make the sport and eco button actually do something more than change acceleration curves since you could literally change the engine cycle type
