A local farm recently was outbid on land that the county seized in 1955 from them then sat on for 60 years, only ever using a couple acres out of the 35 acres for utilities that ultimately weren't built. despite having raised the 200,000$ to bid on it, the board had to sell it in an open auction instead of returning it to the family

  7. Yes, zoning laws are part of the problem, but recently developers also defeated a proposal to rezone a section of a town in ohio to include multifamily housing so they get to go and build more expensive single family housing again
