Thatcher's policies of "fuck you, I've got mine" created massive unemployment, deindustrialization, urban blight, and the dramatic thinning of the british economy that without the common market would have seen all british economic activity collapse, then she too was taken down by the dumbest of all things, an arbitrage issue that was pointed out to her to be mathmatically unworkable, yet she and her government pressed on until the lines converged as predicted and the pound collapsed. So its hard to say decades on that Thatcher was some great genius when she precipitated the conditions that caused such social strife and anguish

  2. ​ @gnosticbrian3980  this is a charge with no backing, when has britain, or the US even where this gets trotted out, elected a truely socialist government in the last 50 years? it certainly wasn't blair, or clinton, or obama, or carter. the middle class of both countries have been voting against government aid for the latter half of the 20th century while the rich have been vetting the platforms to ensure they always get a handout
