  3. while bullets can sit sealed for decades, artillery shells and charges are a bit more prone to degrade especially since the Russians don't keep their munitions stored very well. The US learned this lesson badly with the Iowas where we had these guns which couldn't hit anything because the ww2 era charges degraded and had wildly inconsistent burn rates, then one of the turrets exploded
