  2. ​ @ianbrown8171 you can get near full time service as a reservist if you want but that's not normal, most have jobs in civilian life and can't take 2/3 of the year off lol. They may get a deployment of 6 months in a year but rarely every year.

  5. You can't wear a watch or know your pace but you know the rough distance of the march so can estimate when the end is near. The selection staff love to throw in sickeners though, like adding extra ( non existent) checkpoints at the end to see who bails.

  6.  @stephenisom6089  who said that's not the case? What makes the marches hard are the amount of them and their cumulative impact on the body and mind, the weight carried, the weather, the lonlines of marching solo and the terrain as well as navigation.

  11. Seals are closer to royal marines but we don't really have an equivalent in the UK. We don't have a specific para rescue unit either.
