The US has brokered a maritime border agreement between Isreal and Lebanon in the interest of developing gas production operation(s) on their off-shores, with the intent to assist and relieve the EU from its energy situation. It would appear this is a connect the dots, and one would also conclude Germany, knowing of the impending agreement assisted in the pipeline decommissioning. I say decommissioning, because no one at this juncture actually knows what has happened to the Russian pipelines, and in fact, no one knows that the pipelines are actually destroyed.
