A famous leader once said there is nothing to fear but fear itself. You never heard that I only dread in your message. A story today some AI expert was going to catch a plane and was in an autonomous vehicle, but he had a problem.
The vehicle would not stop at his stop. It actually circled the airport 8 times before they were able to get the vehicle stopped. That is kind of scary.
I saw a documentary on the end of WWII and the bombing of Japan. The chemistry and physics I would say, was, and still is more than any fearful pronouncement you're making about AI and it speedy growth.
My point here is there was a high level executive council to examine the pros and cons of the Atomic Bomb. In the end it was 1 person who authorized both bombs use.
With AI there are a plethora of areas, techniques and methods, and few people are cognizant, much less knowledgeable about all areas of AI. That means the most knowledgeable person of the art will make the decision, of one way or the other, but will tell the person he should decide because that person more than likely will be a scientist, and not a pugilist or military general.
When I read these scary bejesus stories there is never any exactitude. The idea that a regular person could decipher from AI, an output how to put together death giver knowledge based on being able create some formula given to them by AI.
Yet, enemies of America are OK to have this information from American companies. It is so weird and strange, that the fear is of Americans and not enemies of America, who have reason to become the digital menaces against us. Last I looked, China had like 8 supercomputers, who are among the fastest in the world, of all the countries that have supercomputers.
So, I suggest barriers have already been broken and your spitballin' about what may happen has already been calculated and has already been run as a scenario in the case of its occurrence.
Here would be my suggestion, highly unpopular, and that would be AI be completely devoted to the Brain and its ability to go off the rails. We must clean up the brain that is be as pristine as possible, then, scary scenarios about people doing crazy, dangerous stuff would not be something we would need to worry about.

I would say to Musk. that e are fundamentally blind consciously. No one considers the dimensions. Perhaps the reason you have never seen evidence of aliens is because they are in or on a different dimensional plane. i was one of the few kids in my neighborhood raised on Marvel comics where dimensions were often spoken of. Do you know, I never met any other person or kid that was a readerr of Marvel comics back then. I was so hungry for the latest edition, it never occurred to me to ask who else is reading these comics?
So, there is the conception, are we to believe in the universe ours is the only consciousness, spirit, no spirit could exist on a different dimensional plane, and considering the expanse of the universe, how many layers or arrays, different conciosmess' are there on the many on those layers that surely exist, that are invisible and oblivious to the continuing evolution of all else on all the levels.Hahaahahaha, BS right. What do I know? I think one thing AI can do for humanity is focus its thinking. The Data Scientists that are devoted, are focused, and to reach their level of understanding you to must be focused
