  2. Hayley’s Comet Her Mandarin is elementary and weirdly-accented. 50% of the time she just asks ‘Why’ and lets the interviewees do the heavy lifting. I could easily conduct an interview in Japanese asking Why and spouting basic level phrases too. And I’m saying this as a non-mainlander. However, that said, those mainlanders from that obscure corner of China have the most unintelligible and obscure Mandarin accents ever, especially that granny on the train. Taiwanese Mandarin accent is still the clearest and most standard.

But in this case, i would not fork out that amount of cash to become a “consultant”. I can learn/follow the tips just from her videos and tv shows or books.
