Life isn't a video game ,and even inside that it doesn't make any sense ,raw materials and such things still need to get to your fictional manufacturing zone
1
@rjweiss1 what do you mean by "transportation is not needed" things don't teleport from mexico city to houston, or from a mine in canada to mexico
1
It's not because there's manufacturing in texas mexico that it's the only place with manufacturing !!!?
1
I'm not poking holes ,the holes are a size a of a galaxy
1
There's no "logistical masterplan" ,the usa is famously not a planned communist economy Build infrastructure along major axies ,ports ,railway etc... connect with kind of less densely populated areas around the major areas ,reduce freight costs
1
@rjweiss1 i wrote them in the previous response,it's not really rocket science
1
he's talking about how freight costs are too high for manufacturing
1
Nope,AI only knows how to copy things,it's not because a high school student knows Newton's laws that he has become newton
1
You think iran will donate the money to russia?and what are they going to do with it ,buy chinese weapons?🤣🤣🤣🤣

They had 100 years to figure out how to build ships, they didn't,their problem
1
rule #89in life : when corporate soulless people want something : do the opposite
1
i think that has already been done
1
You US ships are worse because of labour costs?🤣🤣
1
Well it didn't work for 100 years
1
The 1960s are gone ,get used to it
1
@theempirestrikesback it would benifit anyone wanting to move cargo It's the jones act that benifits lazy corporations
1
Pls read cato's answer again,it's not about retail
1
Japan is an island where everything has to be shipped in from outside ,by your logic, there's no way toyota doing no storage is possible . It's not because toyota has no storage that there isn't any storage in japan from.it's where toyota gets raw ressources etc. so fast
1
@colonel__klink7548 try to see the whole picture ! the world doesn't start or stop with toyota ! where do the raw commodities of these contractors come from?
1
@colonel__klink7548 let's end this conversation here , getting insulted in youtube comments isn't my passion
1
@colonel__klink7548 the subject is about if a factory that takes raw commidities and turns them to something else has a choice between having a supply of a raw commidity in 3 hours or in 2 days but with 1/12 of the shipping price , it will choose option 2 because of the important weight being transported of course a toyota factory that ships in final parts of a car cares less about the freight cost because it's much more value added. toyota is not concerned by this, your "extensive" knowledge of toyota supply chains has no importance here .
1
@colonel__klink7548 "We haven't even addressed things like Zeihan harping on about the Missisippi which doesn't reach Wyoming which exports large volumes of bulk goods like coal." there is a rail connection to the mississipi , still plays an important role. it takes a ship 90 days to go around the earth if it goes at a speed of 10 knots , where do you get this 6 month figure of a ship going between 2 us ports from exactly? "They like everyone else don't spend a fortune storing product they don't need TODAY and so plan a steady supply chain that usually comes in via rail." What I am saying is that this steady supply chain is more efficient with a ship that transports directly to the company. : talks about maritime transport : "Also what is absent is a great river to carry the grain there. " "It seems the primary use of the missisippi river barge is to carry goods out to the ports for export to places like Africa, not for internal us use." Because : jones act

1

1
@ronarnett4811 oh no , not the great US marine shipping industry , it's PATHETIC
1
@eewewe283 harm the economy of the us for a century in exchange for producing mediocre expensive ships, fair trade🤣
1
@eewewe283 US and china aren't the only countries in the world, mate
1
@eewewe283 are you saying no chinese ship ever goes to a US Port?🤣🤣
1
@eewewe283 that last part "jones act isn't going away any time soon" doesn't have to do with anything and sounds like a screaming child🤣
