Many younger men are simply concentrating on themselves because the marriage and divorce rates and the laws are a total shitshow for men. Think about it, many younger men have NEVER seen a successful marriage in their lives, Their own parents, aunts and uncles, older siblings older friends. But they have seen men getting screwed over by the courts. It is very hard to convince such people that marriage is a viable option.

If there had been no British Empire there would be no India, Meaning that there would just be a pack of warring states, Muslim vs Hindu, no common language, no industrialization, probably now most of them would have become either marxist or fundamentalist. There is no way that a person from India can get around this. You can imagine that some benign power in India would have united the sub continent and instituted reforms and brought them into the modern world but what is the probability of that? Very damn small.

Better yet, stop being a libertarian, I was one for years but now realize that libertarian goals are unrealistic, and libertarian dogma would often lead to poor outcomes if it could be implemented. All ideology is problematic. I have seen really smart people believe really stupid things because of ideology. Every policy should be looked at on its merits individually and there is no magic shorthand way to get around this.

  18. Putting aside facial attractiveness what I see most often with younger couples is average to fit men with really overweight women. I see that a LOT, especially among African Americans and Latino.

  45. @Bobby Vajeen That is my schadenfreude in all of this. In the 80's and 90's I watched title 9 in the USA eviscerate men's sports. Now it is happening to women's sports and although I think its wrong, I can't help laughing.

  49. be careful of linking it just to economics because some nations with very low birth rates have started giving couples money, rent, and other benefits to have children and it doesn't seem to be working.

  50. that was more an issue to stir the people up. there were a great many money interests in wanting independence, and as far as outrages go. Quartering troops in people/s homes angered more people than anything else.
