They hear what they want to hear, ignore anything that does not fit their ideology, and then resort almost immediately to name calling. When I attended college way back in the 1970's it was not this way. You could have healthy discussions with people on the left. But not anymore.

  22. do I believe that there was a civilization prior to the younger Dryas more advanced than dynastuc Egypt ? i think it unlikely. Do I accept the orthodox views on how the amazing things we find all around the world were created with just Stone, bone, logs, ropes and copper ? Absolutely not. I think some knowledge was lost. that seems most likely.

Yes ancient peoples knew their environment, Yes ancient peoples could observe the actions of animals. yes seafarers in the past did follow birds in flight. yes birds often cross bodies of water. Yes, if you don't understand something so simple, then you are being obtuse.

  35. A great book on this is Zev Sternell's "Neither Right nor Left". He goes into some detail about the origins of Marxism, Anarchism, Fascism, and Nazism. His conclusions are pretty much the same as yours. Right and left are just words the real distinction is between people who believe in individual rights and freedoms and those who don't.
