A lot of men would like to have a family but it is not most, maybe 45%. In the past, and in some cultures today, there was an expectation or a duty for men to marry and support a family. And a lot of those men were crappy fathers and even the ones who were decent fathers were not happy. Then in comes feminism and no fault divorce and men began to question this "duty" and found that they could live very peaceful lives without all of that.
