There is something that leaks over from the comic books that a lot of people didn't get. Steve Rodgers was the only person who ever took the super soldier serum who didn't go insane. It makes you crazy and violent. That is what happened to Walker, it happened to the old fellow, it happened to Karli, it happened to all the super soldiers from russia who zemo killed. and it would have happened to Barnes as well except Hydra kept him drugged and programed. This explains a lot but they should have made it more explicit.

@kevinserrano7442 read more carefully, it made him feel unwelcome, see that is what happens when people make overt racist statements.

There were 3 versions of the Blue Beetle in the comics but they went with the version that lent itself more to over the top CGI. The previous two versions were more like Batman type characters with some super strength.

@civilcynic3725 that doesn't make it less obnoxious

The writing, the directing, the characters, the stories

Don't go by this review, check it out, I was also a Morbius comic fan and I thought it was pretty solid. Not great but not bad either.
11
but they don't really have to. there are lots of comic characters who just fight regular old criminals and low rent super villians, it is entirely possible to make such stories compelling.

Hey get this, Old Blade could mentor his son, the new Blade.
9
@canalmilani but in north america it specifically is a perjorative against anglo people.
7
don't hold your breath

@Philusteen I will agree to some extent however there are ways to present a message and when you have to destroy one set of people to elevate another that is no good, or when you are just overt and in your face with your message, that sucks too.

The danmdest thing to a comic book fan is that movie was very faithful to the comic. Problem is Green Lantern was never an A list hero.

Now here is an area open to huge debate: Who was the sexiest Bond girl? My choice is Carey Lowell
2
@VV-wc4bg yeah to you, and a few other people, a minority of people with limited imaginations.
2
@fishjones4618 I would not be surprised to see a return of westerns to popularity
2
not to mention she literally raped a man by using his body for sex with someone else's mind in it.
2
Well the original She Hulk comic book was played for laughs. Like Deadpool it broke the fourth wall and the writers just had fun with the character.
2
@witebatman well that is your opinion, not mine
2
Moonknight and Mobius should be fairly good. I remember liking both comics, One haunted by being a living vampire and the other with a mental disease.
2
@ChildishGambeaner the M-She-U has a recent track record of suck

I was really hoping this would be worth my while but altogether I think I will wait until there is a second one before I invest my time in it. On the other hand I believe it is time for the American Western to make a big comeback because heaven knows that all the other genres have turned into pure shit.

@eliek2014 nonsense, good stories are good stories.
1
any movie showing 110 lb females beating up 6 foot plus males is just beyond stupid.
1
It is my sincere hope that they lose so much money that Sony can buy Marvel from them and make good movies again.
1
lets hope so

Although I loved Minus one, I also like movies with no hollywood actors. or at least not a lot of screen time for them. I will be even happier when we eventually just have pure AI actors and I don't have to know about their politics.
1
they lost a lot of viewers permanently
1
To each their own I guess, I loved Dalton and Craig exactly because they were realistic and gritty. And I thought that too much humor ruined the Moore movies. Although two of them were pretty good. I do think Connery was the best but the movie Skyfall was to me almost as good as Goldfinger. At any rate all I can say about the future is that there is a 99.9% certainty that they will screw it all up.
1
In the Comic books that is how Marvel did it, they created original black heroes, The Falcon, Luke Cage, Blade, The Black Panther, all original. But DC did the race swapping thing like making the Green Lantern black. And it didn't work as well.
1
This is gonna suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
1
Two things made this inevitable to some extent, changing demographics and genre burnout. However, really crappy woke stories hastened the collapse.

I know, that is the typical racism of white lefties, they want to lump all people into groups. I live in the most diverse city in North America (Houston) and my Cuban and Venezuelan friends have nearly nothing in common with my Mexican neighbors. Not the same food, or music, or culture. They only share a language. And they HATE being lumped together.
1
I don't see a lot of evidence of that. their latest efforts in the MCU are not making nearly the cash the earlier films did.
1
Funny to hear you pronounce his name as Roger Muir
1
Can't agree with you on this one. I thought it was pretty good.
1
Wasn't really that bad, just wasn't that good either. To some extent I believe we are all just experiencing Marvel fatigue.
1
I am beside myself that there will be no more lesbian space witches.
1
@Oldschool1943 How does it not make sense and why could he have not had a son during the long time between the movies ?
1
I was one of the few who hated the first Avatar movie, in the first place it was just a remake of Dances with Wolves which itself was an over rated movie. And of course the gratuitous making the humans/white men/capitalists all the horrible bad guys. It is so tired and cliche'. And the blue people just looked goofy to me. Blah.
1
ok, it wasn't THAT bad, it was mediocre but not terrible.
1
I haven't seen the Snyder version, is it worth my time?
1
@ChildishGambeaner well you are entitled to your opinion but I do not share it
